Its interesting how there is a bit of a trend for reflection at the moment. This show brings together three artists whose show, to me, was very nostalgic. Some of the old school work most people remembered seeing, well some of it, back in the 90s when Shanghart was in its Fuxing Park location. Also while there you can snoop around the Dunhill shop and Kee Club. Wow, RMB 60 for a bottle of Guinness. And they have a few paintings on wall in the Kee Club, embarrassingly for them with warped stretchers. I aint paying RMB 60 for a half pint of bottled Guiness to look at warped stretchers..It also seems the famous painting of YYs Kenny has sold.
Anyhow, Shanghart show is worth a visit if you are down that end of the Huaihai Road.
