Big news round up – as May turns to June

May 25th, 2009 | By Chris | Category: Random Shanghai stuff...

A glorious weekend in Shanghai, 25 degrees out, sunny, no rain, led to a good crowd for the Yang Fudong show at Zendai MOMA. Yet another iconic show by Yang, as the museum blew a huge chunk of its budget, for ‘probably its most important show ever.’ If you get a chance, definitely worth a visit. Many had hangovers from the previous nights debauchery at YYs, following the blackboard show the night before. One of the highlights of the Yang Fudong show was one L Helbling, co -organiser of the show, not getting a beer before supplies ran out from the meager one box or so that the museum decided to distribute.

Another ART HK piece here by Artforum, quite good selection of people shots, despite ART HKs flaks saying ‘no people shots.’ Ah, rebellion. I am a bit concerned about news articles quoting what people said on twitter. Is this a new trend? Should it be allowed?
