Going by this excellent research here, Shanghai is definitely not yet in the throws of an economic depression. Skirts in Shanghai are currently about 1cm below the arse line. Here is a contemporary Baidu image search using the Chinese term for skirt, so in real time you can see how the economy is doing. Pretty nifty neH?
Or perhaps this model doesn’t apply here? According to the market guru I talked to, Shanghai’s bust will come around 2012.
